About the project

The REGINA (Regenerative Agriculture) project is an Erasmus+ partnership for cooperation in the field of higher education, aimed at promoting regenerative agriculture as a sustainable approach to food production and natural resource management.

The project brings together partners from Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Ireland and Greece and promotes the development and dissemination of knowledge about regenerative agriculture among students, educators, advisors and farmers. Special emphasis is placed on improving soil health, biodiversity, more efficient use of water and nutrients and increasing the long-term resilience of agricultural systems.

Main project objectives

The project was aimed at:

  • promoting regenerative agriculture in Europe;

  • collection and presentation of good practices in regenerative farming;

  • development of educational materials for students, teachers and farmers;

  • improving knowledge about sustainable soil management;

  • promoting the adaptation of agriculture to climate change;

  • strengthening the connection between education, research and practice.

The role of the SZOK

The Slovenian Association for Conservation Agriculture (SZOK) participated in the project by promoting regenerative agriculture in Slovenia, organizing professional events, and preparing and disseminating professional content.

The project organized professional events, presentations for farmers, and activities to raise public awareness about the importance of healthy soils and regenerative agriculture. The REGINA project also contributed to increasing the visibility of regenerative agriculture in the Slovenian media and among the professional public.
