About the project
C-FARMING (Carbon Farming Alliance) is a three-year Erasmus+ project designed to accelerate the uptake of carbon farming as a sustainable business model in European agriculture. The project develops new knowledge and skills in soil health, carbon cycling, climate solutions, digitalisation and sustainable farm management.
It brings together higher education and vocational training institutions, research organisations, agricultural organisations and industry representatives to develop modern education and training programmes for farmers, advisers, students and other agricultural professionals.
Main project objectives

• promote the adoption of carbon farming practices across Europe
• strengthen knowledge of soil health, carbon cycling and climate-smart agriculture
• develop innovative education and training programmes for farmers, advisers and educators
• improve digital and entrepreneurial skills in agriculture
• connect education, research and farming practice
• support the transition to more sustainable and resilient farming systems
Key project outcomes

The project develops:
-
• a VOOC training programme for farmers, students and agricultural businesses
• a “Train the Trainers” MOOC for advisers, teachers and lecturers
• a Digital Learning Ecosystem, including an online classroom and a virtual farm
• national Learning and Business Incubators to support carbon farming
• pilot training programmes and practical demonstration activities in partner countries
SACA´s role
The Slovenian Association for Conservation Agriculture (SACA) contributes to developing educational content, testing training programmes, disseminating project results and connecting Slovenian farmers, advisers and other stakeholders working in conservation, regenerative and carbon farming.
